Procesadora Frutícola S. A. – PROFRUSA, is an Agro-industrial Enterprise, founded on June 15, 1972 by a group of farmers, producers of lemon fruit in the area of Motupe and Olmos in the Lambayeque Region of Peru, in order to take advantage of the lemon harvest surplus that is not marketed for direct consumption. In 1,990 PROFRUSA opened its Dehydration Plant of lemon peel, after purchasing the machinery to the Company DI BACCO Y CIA S.R.L. in Argentina. Business management is focused in the area of production due to the need to comply with the international quality standards, and to ensure adequate supply of raw material, which is lemon fruit. Profrusa has a large market; its production is placed in the North American and European markets. The Essential Oil and the Dehydrated Lemon Peel produced by Profrusa are considered to be of very high quality. It should be noted that the company has achieved the leadership in the market due to its compliance with international quality standards.
